Health Disparities Funding Data
The table below displays the annual support level for the Health Disparities research, condition, and disease category (RCDC) based on grants, contracts, and other funding mechanisms used across the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
Health Disparities is a manually collected category that includes research related to Health Disparities as well as research sustaining activities such as Workforce Diversity, Infrastructure, Inclusion of Racial and Ethnic Minorities, and Outreach and Communications. Unlike automated RCDC categories, ICOs depict the percentage of the project relevant to Health Disparities reporting.
Historical data are from FY 2008 through FY 2021. were collected in a different manner. Estimates for FY 2022 and FY 2023 are calculated based on RCDC actual data.
